Faye Smith Makeup & Hair Artist for UNIQUE photo shoot with Meg Hawkins photography and models Misti and Helen
After having spent over a year in Vancouver, BC, Canada, it was finally time for me to return home in November 2009. I had been doing previous research and had been in touch with some photographers I could work with when I returned and I was exciting to go on my first UK photo shoot. The shoot was with photographer, Meg Hawkins and models Misti (seen to the right) and Helen (seen below). The concept was so unique and required a number of different hair and makeup looks. One of which was the "half and half", representing a man torn between his male and female side. We were hoping that the uniqueness of the concept and talent involved would achieve a spread in my favourite magazine, NOI.SE Magazine. Sadly we did not achieve our goal but nevertheless, we achieved some very unique portfolio pictures that tell a story.
This photo shoot was fun from start to finish and it was so unusual to hear a completely different accent to what I had been hearing for the past year. The day was long and we covered multiple outfits, makeup and hair styles, ideas, expressions and more in order to produce as many pictures as possible and tell the story as vivid as could be told through images. It is sad that our vision was not seen in the same way as the editors of NOI.SE Magazine but we are happy to finally be able to release the pictures for our audience to see. I hope you like our work.
